Things Clients Do That Drive Stylists Crazy (Respectfully...)

Let’s spill a little insider tea…
Hair stylists love their clients, truthfully they wouldn’t be here without you. But there are a few things that happen in the salon that make stylists internally scream… respectfully, of course.
If you’ve ever wondered whats actually going on behind the chair, this one’s for you!
1. “I used box dye… but just once!”
We promise we’re not judging… well maybe a little, but we are adjusting your entire game plan because of it. Box dye is extremely unpredictable, and it makes color corrections way more complicated (and sometimes more expensive).
Tip: Honesty = better results. Always.
2. Showing up late (or super early)
Stylist run on tight schedules. Being late can throw off the whole day, and cause them to run late for other guests... and thats just not fair for anyone. And being too early can be stressful too, for the the stylist and the other guest in there chair.
Tip: Aim for right on time = everyone’s happy.
3. Wearing complicated outfits to hair appointments
Hoodies, turtlenecks, giant earrings… you’re making the job 10x harder. We most commonly see hoodies... as comfy as they are, did you know that they can cause uneven haircuts. The bulk behind your neck prevents your stylist from cutting your hair to its natural length, resulting in uneven lines.
Tip: Wear something comfy and easy to move around in.
4. Saying “I don’t use heat” but wanting a styled look daily
Low maintenance hair = low maintenance results. You can’t have a high maintenance look with zero effort.
Tip: Know yourself and match your hairstyle to your lifestyle.
5. Not booking enough time for what you want
We get it...online booking is convenient. But sometimes clients pick the service that sounds right… but after the consultation, it turns out it’s not actually enough time for what they really want. For example, going from dark to blonde is not a “quick appointment” situation.
