About Me
Hello, my name is Emily Pelayo, I am a college student. I attend Kean University in Union New Jersey. I am a Psychology major with a minor in marketing. I was born and raised in New Jersey, which has helped shape who I am today. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, reading/writing, learning new things, being active, nature and everything about the beauty industry. I also like to travel and learn new things about other cultures. I have worked in marketing for the past 2 years, with a specialization in internet marketing for a hair salon. Two years may not seem like a lot, but when it comes to the beauty/cosmetology my involvement in the industry goes well beyond that. I have been surrounded by this industry my entire life, which has given me valuable insight, hands on experience, and a deep appreciation for the creativity and business behind it.
Our Story
Snips, Tips & Tea was created as a sister platform to Hairapy Salon to share the conversations, trends, tips, and real moments that happen inside the beauty industry every day. I grew up in salons because my mom is a hairstylist and salon owner, so from folding towels to sweeping hair off the floor, I’ve been surrounded by this industry my whole life. Now, working at Hairapy, I get to see firsthand how much creativity, skill, and care goes into making people feel confident. This space is for sharing the beauty industry beyond just hair — the trends, the education, the stories, and the passion behind the chair.
